INTRODUCTION
In the last decade, agents and data mining have emerged as two of most
vivacious areas in information technology field. The nature and comple mentarity of both areas foreshows an emergent trend that is the increasing
interaction between agents and data mining. As a result, both sides obtain
great enhancement in terms of solving the existing individual challenges
and innovating new research and development opportunities. The Interaction
will greatly strengthen the progress of each side, and trigger new R&D
challenges and prospects towards the advancements of next-generation
intelligent technologies and systems as well as the enrichment of integrated
intelligence and other emergent aspects.
This international workshop, IADM2006 (ADMI2006 in the WI-IAT2006
website), is a follow-up professional activity of the successful
AIS-ADM2005 on the interaction between agents and data mining area. As
one of the earliest on this critical topic, aims to encourage the
interaction between agents and data mining towards mutual enhancement
and super-intelligent synergism. It will bring together researchers and
industry practitioners from both areas to share the results of R&D and
discuss the existing and emerging theoretical and applied problems in
the interaction and evolution. It will be held at the beginning of the
joint Conference on IAT-06, WI-06, ICDM-06, December 18, 2006 at Hong
Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The Workshop proceedings will be published by IEEE Computer Society Press, to be indexed by EI.
Selected papers from IADM2006 will be published as a special issue on International Journal of Intelligent Information and Database Systems (IJIIDS). Please read the Call For Paper online or download a PDF version (Note: Important Dates Updated on 28/09/06) for more information about the special issue.
